Welcome to The Great Commandment Challenge
The Great Commandment Challenge is an exciting new way to grow in faith, community, and purpose—while putting Jesus’ command to love God and love others into action. This challenge is hosted by Cross Creek Baptist Church in partnership with our young adult small group, Creek & Co. (ages 18–30).
There’s no cost to join—this is simply one way our church is reaching out to the community to help people grow spiritually, connect relationally, and take steps toward healthier living.
This challenge is for everyone—whether you’re looking for a fresh way to engage with Scripture, or you enjoy being active and want to connect your physical health with your spiritual growth. Along the way, you’ll find opportunities to deepen your relationship with God, strengthen connections with others, and build rhythms that help both your faith and your body grow stronger.
Whether you’re a member of Cross Creek, a friend from the community, or just looking for encouragement to move forward—spiritually and physically—this challenge is for you!

FAQ’s & Challenge Resources
-
Nope! This is open to everyone — neighbors, friends, and family.
We would absolutely love for you to join us at Cross Creek, but the heart of this challenge is about deepening your relationship with Jesus Christ. If you already attend a church, we encourage you to stay connected and serve there. You can worship at any Bible-believing church as part of this journey.
Along the way, there may also be opportunities to gather for small devotional get-togethers. You’re welcome to join in with one of our small group settings — like Creek & Co. (for young adults), Creekside Companions (50+), or other Cross Creek groups, or other small group worships you currently attend at your place of worship. Those times can count toward your weekly “heart” practice in the challenge.
-
We’d love for you to join us at Cross Creek Baptist Church during the challenge! We’ll also provide special opportunities throughout the 5 weeks where you can connect, worship, and grow with others in community. These opportunities will be shared during the challenge’s timeframe. Also keep in mind the core message is that Jesus promises to be present among small groups of his followers when they gather in his name!
-
Absolutely! This challenge is designed so anyone can join, no matter where you live. You can track your miles, readings, and church attendance from home. If you don’t have a local church, you’re welcome to join Cross Creek online for worship and special opportunities we’ll provide during the challenge.
Please note: due to shipping costs, we may not be able to mail medals or T-shirts to participants outside our area—but we’d still love for you to be part of the journey and celebrate your growth with us!
-
We encourage it, but you can go at your own pace.
-
Yes! Adults, kids, and whole families can participate together.
-
Just pick up where you left off—progress matters more than perfection.
-
We will have a celebration service at the end of the challenge timeline. Time and date yet to be determined, however we will post once determined.
